Between the Loire Valley, Anjou and Poitou, take a break on the banks of the Guesnes fishing pond, in the heart of the Scévolles forest of the Loudunais region. Starting from the pond, a 22 km walk (easy level) takes you through the heart of the Scévolles massif. Discover the Fondoire paths, the old Chanteloup quarries, the Beaumont property but also the railway heritage. A large signpost indicates the route, the main sights and picnic areas along the way. Awaken your inner explorer at the Guesnes amusement park by taking part in the Terra-Aventura Trail! Inspired by Geocaching, equip yourself with your hiking GPS or your mobile phone and take part in this life-size treasure hunt! Other trails are also available in the surrounding villages, give it a try! Opposite the campsite, the 4-hectare pond is home to many fish species and is a delight for anglers. There are facilities for everyone, including a playground and boules pitch. Visit the castle of Monts-sur-Guesnes (5km), a 15th-century monument that takes you back to the origins of the Kingdom of France. Visit the historical settings through 8 rooms and the medieval encampment to experience the Middle Ages. You can watch shooting demonstrations with medieval weapons of war. The village of Monts-sur-Guesnes, listed as a ‘Petite Cité de Caractère’, is also worth a visit. 7 km from the campsite, the ‘Maison de l’Acadie’ in La Chaussée tells the story of the Acadians.
