Area for camping-car of Scorbé-Clairvaux

Scorbé-Clairvaux, 33 kilometers north of Poitiers, is close to the Futuroscope (22 km). This famous park combining science to leisure is sure to please the whole family! Discover also the Aven’Thuré park and its outdoor activities, open from June to November (less than 3 kilometers from the campsite). The Clairvaux castle, built around 1480, is one of the first Renaissance buildings in Poitou and is now classified as a National Heritage Site. Discover the Museum of the Chess Set within the castle, where more than a hundred games from all over the world are presented, including Napoleon I’s campaign game. If you want to see more heritage sites, visit the Saint-Hilaire church, the priory, the Halles or the Robinières and Haut-Clairvaux castles. Some of these monuments are located on the walking and cycling path linking Châtellerault to Loudun. Read the displays telling the local history all along the 37 kilometers trail. You can also have a walk on the 5 other trails in town: the Chagnerottes woods, La Besserie, Le Haut-Clairvaux, Les Roches and La Poirière. Many of the surrounding villages are worth a visit, such as Châtellerault (10 km), where events are organised throughout the year, Poitiers (33 km), classified as a Town of Art and History, or the medieval town of La Roche-Posay (35 km).
