Tourism / Discovery
Saint-Crépin-et-Carlucet is located 40 km southwest of Brive-la-Gaillarde.
A stroll through the village will take you to the preserved heritage sites. Start with the Château de Lacypierre (16th century), open to visitors from June to September. A little further on, you will probably come across the 17th century church, the charming facade of the presbytery, the 18th century fountain, the calvary and the dry stone huts. Many discoveries await you!
Hike on the paths that start from the ‘’Vieux Saint-Crépin’’ car park (loops of different levels):
‘’La Boucle des deux villages’’ (6.7 km): discover the heritage sites, the nature reserves and the local products
‘’La Boucle Terra Aventura’’ (6.8 km): a treasure hunt between the Château de Lacypierre, the walnut orchards and the washhouses
‘’La Boucle de la forêt’’ (11.3 km): almost 5 hours of hiking in the middle of the natural landscapes of the Fénélon country
Visit Sarlat, capital of the Périgord Noir (10 km south), one of the most beautiful medieval towns in Europe. Its bucolic streets and its 65 monuments listed as National Heritage sites will reveal almost a thousand years of authentic architecture.
Take the time to visit the Lascaux Cave located 20 km from the motorhome stopover. It is one of the most important prehistoric caves in history in terms of the number and aesthetic quality of its works. For conservation reasons, you can visit an identical replica of this cave all year round.
Don’t forget to taste the culinary specialities of the Périgord: truffles, ceps, foie gras, confits, pâtés and cold meats are very famous in the region.
