Description
Tourism / Discovery
Campsite located in a calm environment, only 500m form the town center
A few steps from the Indre
On the cycle path of L’Indre à Vélo
Châtillon-sur-Indre, located 80 km south of Tours, is a destination at the centre of several tourist sites. This charming town of 3,000 inhabitants is close to the Haute-Touche zoological reserve (20 km), Beauval zoo (35 km) and the châteaux of the Loire (Valençay castle is 40 km away).
It is also a town whose history is worth sharing. You will discover it thanks to its heritage: a castle dating from the 13th century, a collegiate church and the keep (open to visitors). All these monuments are classified as "Historic Monuments" and bear witness to the medieval character of the town.
There are hiking trails for all levels. Just follow the colour of your choice to go into town, along the canal or into the countryside. You will also be near the paths of the Brenne National Park, country of a thousand ponds to discover the " jardin de la France ".
If you are more of a cyclist, the Indre à Vélo is an important Renaissance route in the Indre Valley. Don't forget your fishing gear! A route of several kilometres is marked out and indicates the different species that you can find in the Indre river.
4 km away, get some speed and adrenalin with the Circuit de l'Indre, a 1000 m outdoor karting track.
