Tourism / Discovery
Ligueil is a charming village located 45 kilometers south of Tours, at the crossroads of the Loire Valley, the Sologne and the Berry.
The flowery town center and the Saint-Martin church are definitely worth a visit. The church tabernacle and the Christ sculpture have been restored and beautifully displayed. Other monuments are to be discovered: the Chancellery (16th century), the Edmaine mill (19th century) and the Château d'Epigny (17th century)…
The area is located within an outdoor activities centre. There is a swimming pool, tennis courts, a bowling alley and a public flower garden with children's games. At the end of this bucolic garden, you can continue your journey on one of the many hiking and mountain bike trails. Discover the hills, valleys, and also washing places and calvaries. There arre many farms and hamlets along the Esves and Ligoire rivers. The « Pampilles de l’Oisellière » is a farm to visit. There you can learn the secret of making the famous PDO cheese Sainte Maure de Touraine.
During your walks, make a stop at the Chétauderies pond, where fishing is allowed.
