Tourism / Discovery
35 km south of Le Mans, Marigné-Laillé is a destination for nature lovers, with a wide range of hiking trails between forests, countryside and riverbanks.
The Bercé forest is a little gem covering more than 5 000 hectares. It is one of the oldest royal forests and was intended to supply the navy. Situated at the edge of the village, it is today qualified as a « Forest of Exception », a label recognising the perfect management of the forest and its heritage regarding history, landscapes, biodiversity… To discover it, follow the trails on foot or by bike, go mushroom hunting or take a ride on horseback. You may come across one of the emblematic sites of this massif: the Coudre fountain, the Futaie des Clos and the Hermitière spring. Visit Carnuta, the « Maison de l’Homme et de la forêt » located in Jupilles. This playful place invites young and old alike to discover the forest in an interactive way.
Two ponds will refresh your walks. The larger one is ideal for fishermen, especially during trout releases (ask for a fishing licence). You can also walk along the Aune and let yourself be guided towards amazing landscapes, between ponds and meadows.
