Tourism / Discovery

Bellevigne-en-Layon is a charming country destination crossed by the Layon river and its tributaries. As its name suggests, the town is located in the heart of the Anjou vineyards and is the source of the famous AOP Coteaux-du-Layon wine. Whether white, rosé or red, tasting the local wines is a must during your stay. The surrounding hills covered in vineyards are crossed by many hiking trails. Starting from Bellevigne or neighbouring villages, you can fully immerse yourself in this universe, either on foot or by bike. We recommend to follow the routes ‘’La Bellevignoise’’ and ‘’Vignoble Loire Layon Aubance’’. It is also the perfect opportunity to discover the heritage sites such as the Maison de la Dîme, a half-timbered house in Rablay-sur-Layon, the Moulin de la Montagne, a mill in Thouarcé, the Pinsonnerie windmill in Faye d’Anjou, and many others. If you are interested in local heritage, several monuments will enchant your stay: the Château de Pineau with its medieval towers, a few chapels, wash-houses and churches. About 10 km from the motorhome stopover, the Beaulieu forest is an excellent place to take a peaceful stroll or walk your dog. You may even come across deer or rabbits along the way! Culture and arts being very important to the town, Bellevigne-en-Layon hosts many events and exhibitions. Le Village d'Artistes in Rablay-sur-Layon is an association housed in a large 15th-century building on three levels, where you can find a designer boutique, a contemporary art gallery and an art library. Enjoy a visit to the town to experience the famous softness of Anjou and its breathtaking landscapes. Discover the local heritage, both natural (the Loire, Europe's last wild river and its tributaries) and architectural (châteaux and “Petites Cités de Caractère” labelled towns).
