Bel-Air-Val-d’Ance, 140 km south of Clermont-Ferrand, is a new parish formed from the villages of Chambon-le-Château and Saint-Symphorien. The motorhome stopover is located on the former territory of Chambon-le-Château, south of the commune.
Although the village has lost the castle that gave it its name, its large square shaded by lime trees, its central fountain and its manor house dating from 1583 make it a picturesque and charming place.
There are many hiking trails close to the campsite: forests, plains, plateaux, valleys, pastures… choose your itinerary between the six on offer. Bel-Air-Val-d’Ance is also part of the GR470, which runs from Biroude in the Haute-Loire to La Bastide-Puylaurent in the Lozère, along the Allier gorges.
Ride along the river and enjoy the scenery on board the Allier gorges tourist train. Between Langeac and Langogne, it travels through kilometres of wild, volcanic landscape that no other road skirts. Don’t forget to book your journey! The train departs from Langeax station and runs mainly during the summer season.
Visit the Museum of the Beast of Gévaudan in Saugues, 23 km from the campsite. A well-known myth in the region, the Beast of Gévaudan is at the heart of many legends. Follow the footsteps of this mythical animal with the museum, hikes and monumental wooden sculptures.
