Tourism / Discovery
About 15 km from Montluçon, this motorhome stopover welcomes you to Reugny, a small town in the Allier department located along the Cher river and the Canal de Berry.
Follow the canal for lovely bike rides: from Magnettes (Audes - Reugny), head up to Saint-Armand-Montrond to enjoy a green route through the foothills of the Massif Central.
A 6,8 km hiking trail from Reugny (very difficult) crosses the hills and takes you to Le Petit Montavent and Le Grand Montavent. From here, you can enjoy incredible views over the Cher Valley.
For anglers, head to the Domaine de Reugny and its carp fishing pond. In this wild, unspoilt setting, try to catch the big carps that live in these waters (some weigh more than 20 kilos!).
Epicures, take the time to visit Mr. Balthazar’s Distillery and enjoy a special tasting session. You’re sure to fall for the house speciality, a pure bourbon whisky called ‘Hedgehog’.
In the vicinity of Reugny, visit the Canal de Berry Museum (5 km) and discover its collection of barges, including two different types: one made of wood and the other of metal. A little further away (30 km), the Forest of Tronçais is one of the most beautiful national forests in France, offering beautiful walks and surprising discoveries.
