Turismo / Descubrimiento
Cantoin is the world bagpipes capital and is ideally located on the Paris-Montpellier (A89) and the Bordeaux-Lyon (A75) roads.
The village is home to the « Maison de la Cabrette et des Traditions en Aubrac », a museum open to the public all year round with the most complete collection of bagpipes in the world! For the record, cabrette first appeared in the 19th century within the Auvergne community in Paris and quickly spread to the Haute-Auvergne and Aubrac. The museum is the perfect occasion to learn more about the destination’s traditions and discover musical instruments.
Find also in the village a fishing pond, a tennis court, a playground, a fitness trail, several hiking trails and a microlight base…
Nestled in the Aubrac Regional Nature Park, enjoy a pleasant and relaxing stopover in a preserved environment. The Truyère valley is a great playground for hikers: many paths are marked.
Visit the charming hamlet of Vines, classified as a « Site Remarquable de France et d’Europe » (remarkable site in France and Europe). Admire its Gothic chapel, its charming old stone houses, but also, and above all, the view of the Serrans lake. To enjoy the panorama, go to the Sarrans lookout point on the Laussac peninsula or to the Tréboul bridge.
Looking for authenticity, traditions and old stones? Many typical villages are to be explored in the surroundings.
