Cross the bridge or the legendary Passage du Gois (causeway accessible only at low tide) to stop off on the island of Noirmoutier. Three discovery tours (Vendée Vélo) are signposted: « Between beaches and harbour » (19 kilometers), « Between marshes and mills » (18,5 kilometers) and « Between Gois and forest » (23 kilometers). One of the must-sees is the Sebastopol polder. Located at the entrance to the island, it is a protected site classified as as « Regional Nature Reserve ».
