Tourism / Discovery
Branoux-les-Taillades is made of two towns located just next to the Baraque pass, in a wooded land filled with pine trees. The hamlet of Taillades is an old mining town whose remains can be seen at the Maison du Mineur, 4 km from Branoux. This museum bears the history of past activities in the heart of the Cévennes.
This destination is located in a preserved environment, next to the National Park of Cévennes. It’s the perfect place to hike and to do outdoor activities.
To discover the environment in a more atypical way, go to Sainte-Cécile to take the Train de l'Andorge en Cévennes (TAC) which leaves in the direction of Saint-Julien-des-Points. It allows you to discover magnificent structures such as the viaduct over the Andorge and the Bramefont tunnel.
Its velodrome is unique: built in 1932 by Louis Riquet, it was completely renovated in the early 2000s and now offers a 250 m track. It is the only equipment of its kind in Languedoc-Roussillon.
