Make a stopover in Saint-Paul-lès-Dax, a green town in the heart of the Landes, about forty kilometers from the Atlantic coast. Lake Christus, a vast 11-hectare lake, is the departure point of many hikes and mountain bike rides. Find lots of facilities (picnic tables, playground for children…) to spend a great time under the pines and surrounded by nature. Follow the stream and you will come across a pretty building in the middle of nature. It is actually the old flour mill of Poustagnacq, a vestige of the town’s industrial heritage! A restful and pleasant place. Discover also the Romanesque church dating from the 12th classified as a National Heritage Site. For a wellness break, go to the Sourcéo aquatic centre, on the edge of the lake. Enjoy the naturally heated indoor and outdoor pools… perfect for a relaxing time. The Grand Dax is a lively destination, attached to the traditions of the Landes and its gastronomy. Here, people like to party! The famous festivals of Dax or the Feria (4 km from the stopover area) greatly enliven the streets and bring together people from all walks of life: shows, concerts, bullfights (Course landaise and from Spain). Throughout the year, visit the markets (on Thursdays and Sundays during summer) and flea markets… you won’t get bored during your stay in the Landes.
