Welcome to the ‘Pays Sostranien’, in the western part of the Creuse. Discover this destination on foot or by bike. With 327 km of footpaths, the Creuse offers wonderful landscapes and a remarkable architectural heritage. Awarded the ‘Commune Touristique’ label in 2012, the village of Noth offers a host of green open spaces and breathtaking scenery. Starting in Noth, a hiking trail (8.8 km) highlights the beauty of the Cazine pond, which passes in front of the campsite. Two hiking trails start from the campsite: one about 4 km long and the other is about 9 km long. These footpaths highlight the assets of the pond of the Cazine, located just next to the campsite. Noth also offers the Terra Aventura geocaching trail! Use your smartphone to embark on a fun walk through the Arboretum du Fôt. Find and scan the QR codes along the way to answer the riddles and find the hidden treasures. At the gateway to the Pays Sostranien region, the town of La Souterraine is home to lots of medieval and historic gems. The Cazine pond is also a great spot to catch pike, pike-perch, carp and roach. Don't forget your fishing gear! The town of La Souterraine is 10 km away. Gateway to the Pays Sostranien, it is home to a number of medieval and historical treasures. The church of Notre-Dame, listed as a National Heritage Site, is a must-see for all visitors to La Souterraine. The Bridiers site has an imposing keep, as well as the remains of the curtain walls and the castle dwellings. A staircase will take you up to the terrace, from where you can enjoy an incredible panorama. The crypt, the Saint-Jean gateway, the Sauveur organ and a host of other monuments will keep you busy all day.
