Tourism / Discovery
Located 35 kilometers from La Rochelle and 60 kilometers from the Ré Island, Taugon is a peaceful town in the heart of the Poitevin Marsh, between the Charente-Maritime and the Vendée.
From the campsite, you are only a few minutes walk from the first jetty, taking you for a traditional boat trip (with or without a guide)! This is definitely a great way to discover the Green Venice and its calming, unspoilt environment. Follow the canals by walking, cycling or even horse riding along the paths. Fully enjoy the calm of the second largest wetland inFrance after the Camargue!
All around Taugon, cycle paths take you to the main points of interest in the surrounding villages. Don’t miss the Ecluses loop of the VéloFrancette itinerary. The latter passes through Damvix, Bazoin and ends in Marans, overlooking the Sèvre Niortaise.
