Tourism / Discovery
At the gateway to the Bay of Mont-Saint-Michel, Carolles is a beautiful destination on the Normandy coast. The village is just 12 km south of Granville.
A magnificent coastline awaits you at the foot of the motorhome stopover. The beach of Carolles stretches for more than 5 km, making it an ideal spot for fishing lovers, especially during spring tides (coefficient can exceed 110).
Between the coast and the rolling countryside, there are many hikes that will take you to the heart of a remarquable natural heritage, such as the Valley of the Painters. In the 19th century, many artists were inspired by the special light of the Mont-Saint-Michel Bay. There are two tours through this open-air painting museum: the ‘outside the walls’ route and the ‘workshop tour’.
The GR 223 hiking trail allows you to discover the Lude Valley, a protected and wild site with a lot of natural resources.
The coastal path runs from the ‘Côte Fleurie’ to the ‘Côte de Nacre’, scene of the Normandy landings.
Granville, 12 km away, is a lively destination with a wide range of activities. The museum, the upper city, the harbour, the archipelago and the multiple guided tours are just some of the activities you can enjoy with friends or family in this seaside resort that lives to the rhythm of the tides.
