The Cergy-Pontoise conurbation is around forty kilometres north-west of Paris and combines the urbanism of the town of Cergy with the art and history of the royal city of Pontoise.
At the heart of this conurbation, Cergy has undergone major development over the last 50 years in terms of both culture and activities. The destination's first architectural landmark is Dani Karavan's “Axe Majeur”, built in the 1980s. As its name suggests, it is the central landmark of Cergy-Pontoise and offers an extraordinary view over the conurbation and Paris.
The “Île de loisirs de Cergy-Pontoise” invites you to enjoy a wide range of activities, all year round! This huge 250-hectare green space features many lakes where you can try kayaks, tennis courts, pedalos, tree climbing, sailing boats, rafting and much more. It is also a peaceful place to stroll, picnic and take a swim on the beaches.
There are also plenty of urban parks, footpaths, woods and gardens, all of which contribute to a peaceful and relaxing environment for your nature outings.
Cergy-Pontoise is a dynamic destination and organises many events, from January to December.
