Tourism / Discovery
Twenty kilometers south of Maubeuge and 100 kilometers from Lille, the village of Felleries is nestled in the heart of the Asvenois Regional Natural Park. Enjoy your stay in this quiet and green setting close to the shops.
The « Bois Jolis » museum is located only 100 meters from the campsite. Housed in an old mill (the only one in the region to have kept its two bucket wheels), discover various exhibitions and many objects or tools remembering rural and industrial life, traditional games… A great way to discover woodworking.
For a family outing, go to the Val Joly tourist resort. On the banks of the largest lake north of Paris, the nature reserve offers many activities for the whole family: aquatic center (swimming pool, sauna, jacuzzi, etc), treetop course, pedalo, miniature gold, archery… all in a preserved environment.
You definitely need to taste the famous Maroilles cheese by visiting one of the producers. The village, which has the same name, is located about twenty kilometers from Felleries. With its rich heritage (the abbey mill, tithe barn, the Saint-Humbert church, etc) and its buildings made of stone, brick and slate, Maroilles invites you to stroll around.
Starting from Felleries, follow the Avesnois walking and cycling path for an outing in nature surrounded by wooded countryside. Avesnois is sometimes referred to as the « Little Switzerland of the North » for a reason!
