The latter is housed in a former sawmill and pays tribute to the craftsmen and workers who are passionate about these two crafts. Mirecourt is also the only place in France where the art of making violins, violas and cellos is taught! Continue your visit by strolling through the workshops, where the tradition has been passed down from generation to generation. Do not miss the Maison de la Musique Mécanique (mechanical music museum) and its incredible collection of instruments. Visiting Mirecourt on foot is the best way to discover its curiosities. The historical center reveals the Renaissance architecture, galeries and decorated staircases. Many trails will take you into nature: the « sentier des écoliers » by the river, the « sentier des luthiers et des dentellières »… By bike, follow the « Voie de la 2e DB » loop in the steps of Général Leclerc and plunge into the history of the Vosges liberation (190 km with clear signage).
