Halfway between Strasbourg and Colmar, Andlau is a pretty winegrowing and gastronomic town on the wine road. With its narrow streets, its majestic churches, its abbatial church and its castles, it has lots of typical monuments worth a visit. A little anecdote: in 2014 the village of Andlau was ranked second in Stéphane Bern’s TV show « Le village préféré des français » (The French people’s favourite village). To enjoy a panoramic view of the village nestled in the mountains and vineyards, go to the Gloriette du Kastelberg. The colors are incredible at sunrise or sunset.
« Les ateliers de la Seigneurie » is an interpretive centre welcoming you to make you discover the heritage rooted in the Pays de Barr and more generally in Alsace. The building constructed in 1582 is itself a symbol of the village. Find playful areas with different themes, such as architecture, viticulture and crafts but also permanent and temporary exhibitions.
Staying in Alsace means discovering the flowered half-timbered houses, tasting the traditional dishes and the culinary specialities while drinking a good wine. It is also about enjoying beautiful strolls in the vineyards or near a castle… a curious mixing between history, heritage and nature.
