Tourism / Discovery
Chablis is a charming little town located 190 km from Paris and 20 km from Auxerre. Set in the middle of vineyards, the town is crossed by the river Le Serein.
With a rich wine-growing heritage dating back thousands of years, the town is a benchmark for white wines, thanks in particular to its 4 AOCs: Petit Chablis, Chablis, Chablis Premier Cru and Chablis Grand Cru. Opened in May 2023, the ‘Cité des Climats et vins de Bourgogne’ invites you to immerse yourself in the local wine culture. Enjoy the experience by taking part in events, tastings and training courses. Meet the professionals and enthusiasts by going directly into the vineyards!
Whether you are looking for a walk in the middle of nature or to discover historic monuments, there are plenty of hiking trails to enjoy. A historical trail takes you to the collegiate church of Saint-Martin or the restored synagogue.
You will also learn that the town built one of the first five printing works in France. If you are looking for greenery, follow the hundreds of kilometres of footpaths that lead you through the hilly countryside, forests and vineyards: ‘Sentier des Grands Crus’, ‘Sentier de la Croix Duché’, ‘Sentier des Clos’…
Chablis is a gourmet destination where Burgundian cuisine is proudly represented! Discover honey, Chablis andouillette and the ‘Biscuits Duché’ at the market held every Sunday morning.
Lake Beine is less than 7 km from the campsite. It is an ideal fishing spot and a peaceful location surrounded by vineyards.
