Tourism / Discovery
Welcome to Marigny, less than a hundred kilometres east of Chalon-sur-Saône, on the shores of Lake Chalain, the largest natural lake in the Jura. Its turquoise waters and surrounding forests and mountains create an exceptional and colourful setting.
Discover the stunning beauty of this lake, nicknamed ‘The Big Blue’, from the lookout point in Fontenu (7 kilometres from the site). Enjoy one of the best panoramic views of the whole lake and its surroundings. Plenty of activities are available throughout the year: hiking and mountain biking, supervised swimming in summer, water sports, fishing…
The Jura department is also renowned for its caves, which are full of curiosities. Discover the one in Baume-les-Messieurs, one of the most spectacular in Europe. Visits are open from April to September.
Just 20 kilometres from the campsite, the Hérisson waterfalls invite you to discover the natural beauty of the Terre d’Émeraude region. Listed as a ‘Grand Site de France’, seven waterfalls follow one after another through the forest and are accessible via footpaths starting from different locations.
In winter, benefit from the Métabief Mont d’Or ski resort located 60 kilometres from Marigny at an altitude of between 950 and 1430 metres.
