Area for camping-car of Arinthod

At the gateway to the Haut-Jura Regional Park, Arinthod is a small village in the heart of the Petite Montagne region. With its 300 km of trails, you are in a hiker’s paradise! This natural site of caves, waterfalls and hilly landscapes is also home to a rich heritage with castles and remarkable religious buildings. In the village, an educational path guides you from the medieval town to the town center. Discover the Vogna cirque and the Pierre Enon, a cube-shaped stone measuring 8 m high and 6 m wide. There are many places to visit during your stay: the Caborne du Boeuf (access by a 1.5 km path from the church of Saint-Hymetière) or the abbatial church of Saint-Pierre de Gigny (17 km from the area). Listed as a National Heritage Site, the church houses remarkable pieces dating from the Romanesque period. At the top of a rocky peak, the ruins of the Oliferne castle (Vescles - 12 km) dominate the Ain valley. Enjoy a nice walk in the middle of nature and a wonderful panoramic view. Other treasures representing the heritage of the « Pays des Lacs et Petite Montagne »: the Dramelay tower (6 km), the Balme d’Epy cave (22 km) and the Pont des Vents mill to learn more about the manufacture of flour. About 20 km from the stopover area, visit the Vouglans lake!
