Tourism / Discovery
Gateway to the Livradois-Forez Regional Park, Puy-Guillaume is 50 kilometers from Clermont-Ferrand.
Close to Puy-Guillaume, the Bec de Dore is a refuge with remarkable fauna and flora. At the confluence of the Dore and Allier rivers, the challenge is to preserve the tranquility of this natural site. Today, its richness is preserved thanks to the low activity due to its remoteness.
Public roads near the campsite wind between woods, fields and the river for pleasant walks. One of them leads you to the Graviers pond where fishing is allowed all year round.
The abbey of Montpeyroux, founded in 1126, is worth a visit to discover its important heritage. Its original dimensions were around 60 meters long, making it the largest abbey church in Auvergne. Today, it hosts many events in its large reception hall.
Take time to visit the surrounding villages. The town of Châteldon, labelled « Petite Cité de Caractère », is 5 kilometers away. You can also visit the medieval and cutlery town of Thiers (15 km) and the spa town of Vichy (22 km).
