Visit Aubin, a town located in the northern part of the Aveyron department, 40 km northwest of Rodez! As a mining town, the rocks extracted from the region have shaped the landscape and the town's buildings over the centuries. This gives Aubin its historic character, with a renowned architectural heritage boasting no less than five sites listed as National Heritage sites. Among these are three churches you can admire while strolling through the town centre. Discover the Sainte-Blaise Church with its Romanesque and Gothic styles, classified in 1942; the Notre-Dame-des-Mines Church, featuring a contemporary style and listed in 2002; and the Notre-Dame du Gua Church, showcasing a Neo-Gothic style and listed two years later. Enjoy comparing these three completely different architectural styles! In addition to these religious monuments, two other buildings worth discovering have also been listed as National Heritage sites: the factory chimneys dating back to 1847 and the Jules Ferry du Gua school, built between 1876 and 1880 and still in use today. The town is situated in a valley carved by the Enne River, offering breathtaking panoramic views as you stroll through the streets. You can enjoy these views directly from the motorhome stopover. Go for a fishing session or take a walk around the Gua Pond, located in the heart of the town, and visit the Mine Museum, which recounts the glorious past of this mining region. If you wish to explore outside the town, numerous hiking trails start from Aubin! Seek out the most beautiful viewpoints along the hillsides or wander into the heart of the Vaysse Forest to admire the local fauna and flora.
