Tourism / Discovery
Stay in Arès, a charming town with the ‘’Famille Plus’’ label, located in the heart of the Landes de Gascogne and the Arcachon Bay, at the gateway to Cap Ferret.
You can easily reach the cycle paths from the motorhome stopover, in particular the one that goes around the town for 11 km. You will then pass the Domaine de Saint-Brice, the Prés Salés Nature Reserve, the oyster port and its typical blue, yellow and green huts, the old railway station, the Tour d’Arès… In short, an ideal bike ride to discover the main points of interest of this destination.
Also enjoy a stroll in the heart of the Prés Salés nature reserve. The site is very pleasant and its information panels allow visitors to learn more about the many species that inhabit this natural and preserved area. Guided tours are also available.
For a moment of relaxation on the beach, go to the Saint-Brice swimming area (accessible even at low tide), which is supervised from mid-June to mid-September. The Domaine also has a pond and a marsh in a wooded area that is very popular with the locals.
Don’t miss the famous Oyster Festival during the summer: it is one of the most traditional in the Bay of Arcachon.
