Nestled in the heart of the Savoy Alps and the Haute-Maurienne Vanoise valley (1750 m altitude), the hill station of Bessans welcomes you to its motorhome stopover in the middle of an exceptional natural environment.
The destination offers many advantages all year long:
Winter:
From November to April, Bessans benefits from good snow cover and sunshine. This is the perfect time to go to the ski resort and enjoy the 133 km of slopes labelled « Nordic France ».
Through the larch forest and 3000 m high peaks, practice downhill skiing, Nordic skiing, snowshoeing or even enjoy a dog sled ride. There are plenty of opportunities for the whole family. Bessans is also a major biathlon venue in France. The best athletes in the world come here to train and compete! The village offers introduction courses to discover the discipline combining cross-country skiing and rifle shooting.
Summer:
The Vanoise National Park offers more than 150 km of marked and safe trails for all levels. Enjoy the flowery pastures, snowy peaks and mountain lakes of the Beaufortain. Stroll with your eyes wide open: you may see chamois, ibex or marmots.
Via ferrata, rock climbing, stand up paddling, mountain biking, canyoning… many activities to appreciate with the fine weather!
The Ludi’Lacs leisure complex (4 km from the motorhome stopover) has everything you need for swimming, fishing or canoeing and stand up paddle excursions. Find picnic tables, barbecues and a boules pitch… Perfect for a relaxing moment!
The fishing course along the river (7 km) is a real paradise for fishing lovers! Fishing licences are available in the village shops.
