Description
Discover Besle, one of "France's Most Beautiful Villages" and stopover in a shaded site down by the river.
44 pitches with electricity, less than 1 km from the village center (a lovely footpath goes straight there; 2 km by car)
Tourism / Discovery
Visit this well kept village in the heart of thriving nature, and admire the timber framed houses, sculpted doors, and bridges and little walkways all around the river.
The main tourist attraction here is the fortress which was built by the Mercoeur barons in the XIth Centrury. All that is left today though, is the dungeon.
Wander along the discovery path (40 mins) to see the 15 historical curiosities of the village, such as Saint-pierre Abbey, Saint-Martin Bell Tower, the Massadou Tower, Chavagnac Castle, Chaigne Chapel, etc. The walk starts in Pré Saint-Pierre Square
Around the village there are no less than 17 small walking loops, none far from Voireuze stream and wash houses.
