This CAMPING CAR PARK site offers 35 pitches, a few steps only from the wonderful Castle of Villandy and its sumptuous gardens.
Villandry was the last of the great Renaissance castles to be built on the banks of the Loire River.
The inside of this 18th Century castle was recently fully restored.
A 21 km bicycle path by the Loire leads you from Villandry (Tourangelle railway station) to Tours.
Consider making a quick stopover on the Savonnière port to discover the "batellerie renaissante" (inland water shipping old companies) and admire the vineyards along the way: four of them are part of “La route des vignobles” (Wine route) and, finally, discover the Val de Loire region (listed as a UNESCO world heritage)
Other places to visit: the Chinon, Amboise, Chenonceaux, Langeais, Azay-le-Rideau Castles; Tours; Bourgueil Abbey... and take time to visit a vineyard if you have the chance to.
