Castelnaudary is undoubtedly a gastronomy city, But there is more than that…
The city reveals its history through its nature, its architecture, its monuments, and especially the cordial reception of its inhabitants.
The vestiges of a historical capital will be discovered all over the place…
Monuments to discover:
-Built outside the ramparts, the 16th-century Notre-Dame de la Pitié Chapel is worth a visit. Its eighteenth-century decor tells the passion of Christ in the form of 10 absolutely beautiful carved wood panels.
-The Cugarel mill: Castelnaudary is known for its windmills. At the beginning of the nineteenth century, around thirty mills adorned the Grand Bassin's surroundings. The Cugarel mill is one of the last vestiges of this glorious era and offers a breathtaking view of the city and the Lauragais region.
- Saint-Jean-Baptiste de Castelnaudary Church
- Croix de Castelnaudary
